Salsa- Salsa en Calle Ocho - is a series of CDs dating back to through 1990. I recommend it for all my students because there is a combination of the best salsa songs of that year. What I like about the series is that it will explose you to the different styles of salsa. Once you find a style or artist you enjoy, you may want to research other offerings that specialize in that sound (i.e. Cuban, New York, L.A. style, Columbian, etc.)

- Roberto Roena - "Mi Musica" 1997. Down home Salsa!!! One of my all time favorites.
- Orquesta Broadway - "Charangas? The Best of Orquesta Broadway" (WSCD 4181) If you like Charanga style Salsa (violins and flute), this CD is a must.
